The whole event is very invigorating. You get to rub shoulders with VIPs. It’s quite a social event – we’ve had people get married and form long-lasting friendships.

I strongly encourage any artists or arts workers to apply because I think we need more artists contributing to and shaping the bilateral conversation.

FAQs

When do applications close?

Applications for CAUSINDY 2023 closed on Tuesday 28 March.

Where is it being held?

The 2023 conference will be held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia from 24-27 May.

How much does it cost?

Applying to take part in CAUSINDY has no financial cost, and we do not charge a fee if you are selected for the conference itself. CAUSINDY endeavours to cover all major costs for delegates to attend the conference. In previous years, CAUSINDY has covered the full cost of accomodation, meals and activities for all delegates.

What are the selection criteria?

The key selection criteria to be a delegate include:

  • Outstanding leadership qualities
  • Superior academic achievement
  • Superior performance in your chosen profession
  • A demonstrated commitment to the Australia-Indonesia relationship, such as through academic or language studies, in-country experience or participation in the bilateral discourse
  • Aged between 21 and 35 years
Who will be selected as a delegate?

Because places are limited, it is likely that successful candidates will need to strongly satisfy all criteria. This may mean some experience working full-time, in addition to completing a bachelor/S1 degree, as well as an ability to demonstrate leadership qualities and commitment to the bilateral relationship through your occupation or extra-curricular activities.

Do I need a background in sustainable tourism?

No. As long as you have an interest in the Australia-Indonesia bilateral relations, you do not need to have a specific background in sustainable tourism.

Are references required?

References are not required as part of your application, however you may like to include them. If so, please provide name, position, organisation and contact details.

What if I have further questions?

Please reach out to the CAUSINDY team at info@causindy.org or on social media.
